free pattern friday // wonder woman sweater

Look at this sweater. Take it in. Designer Natalie Bursztyn has turned a simple raglan sweater into a pullover suitable for any nerd's upcoming trip to DragonCon or the grocery store. And thanks be to Athena, this pattern is free on Ravelry so we can all start casting on today!

The Details:

Sizes: Small (32"), Medium (36"), Generous Medium (40"), and Large (44"). But the whole thing is charted, so it could be easily sized up or down to fit any frame.

Suggested Yarn: Cascade Yarns Hollywood in Blue, Ruby, Gold, and Diamond (Aran/10 ply)

Suggested Needle Size: 10 and 10.5 circulars (24")

The Rundown:

This sweater is knitted bottom up on circular needles. I can see the chart being hard to follow for beginning knitters because the decreases and increases are done based on presence or absence of colored chart squares (ie. one row has 62 stitches, the next has 60, so you have to decrease two). However, the decrease and increase stitches are explained well at the beginning of the pattern and look nearly invisible on the finished garment.

Now if I could only find where I parked the invisible jet so I could go to the yarn store.
